The School of Biotechnology is located in a state of the art building which incorporates
both teaching and research facilities. Biotechnology combines disciplines like genetics,
molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology and cell biology, which
are in turn linked to practical disciplines like chemical engineering, information
technology, and biorobotics.
The School of Biotechnology emphasizes on Biotechnology education programme with
an impetus to generate a workforce that could turn into a substantially trained
pool to meet the country's demands. The school is dedicated to provide quality service
through teamwork, partnerships, and developing team and individual strengths. Patenting
of innovations, technology transfer to industries and close interaction with them
have given a new direction to Biotechnology research in the world today. The School
is an active centre of basic and applied research and aims to achieve a balance
of pure basic, strategic basic, applied and experimental development research.
